Feminine adjective used as a noun (originally الدَّارُ الْآخِرَةُ = the final abode). Related: آخِرٌ (last), أُخْرَى (other/another). Opposite: الدُّنْيَا (this world).
Culture
Belief in the Ākhirah (Hereafter) is one of the six pillars of Islamic faith. Surah Ad-Duha (93) comforted the Prophet during a difficult period.
