وَلَا يَأْتُونَكَ بِمَثَلٍ إِلَّا جِئْنَاكَ بِالْحَقِّ وَأَحْسَنَ تَفْسِيرًا
wa-lā yaʾtūnaka bi-mathalin illā jiʾnāka bil-ḥaqqi wa-aḥsana tafsīrā
They do not come to you with an argument except that We bring you the truth and a better explanation (25:33)
Grammar
Form II maṣdar (تَفْعِيل). Verb: فَسَّرَ (to explain/interpret). The academic discipline of Quranic interpretation is called ʿilm at-tafsīr.
Culture
Tafsīr is one of the most important Islamic sciences. Famous works include Tafsīr aṭ-Ṭabarī, Tafsīr Ibn Kathīr, and Tafsīr al-Jalālayn.
