wa-jaʿalnā al-layla wan-nahāra āyatayn
And We made the night and day two signs (17:12)
Grammar
Form I verb. Past: جَعَلَ, Present: يَجْعَلُ. Can take two objects: جَعَلَ الشَّيْءَ كَذَا (made something into such). Also means 'to begin' with present tense verb.
