Remaining Tens & Compound Numbers

The tens (20-90) follow the sound masculine plural pattern: -ūna (nominative) / -īna (accusative/genitive). Compound numbers put the unit FIRST, then وَ (and), then the tens: واحد وعشرون (21, literally 'one and twenty'). The unit agrees in gender with the counted noun.

In many Arabic-speaking countries, both Western Arabic numerals (1, 2, 3) and Eastern Arabic numerals (١, ٢, ٣) are used. Eastern numerals are more common in the Gulf states and Egypt.
