أَرْضٌ
arḍ
earth / land / ground
A1nounroot: أ-ر-ض
وَالْأَرْضَ مَدَدْنَاهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَاسِيَ
wal-arḍa madadnāhā wa-alqaynā fīhā rawāsiya
And the earth - We spread it out and placed therein firmly set mountains (15:19)
بَحْرٌ

وَهُوَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ الْبَحْرَ لِتَأْكُلُوا مِنْهُ لَحْمًا طَرِيًّا
wa-huwa alladhī sakhkhara al-baḥra litaʾkulū minhu laḥman ṭariyyā
And it is He who subjected the sea for you to eat from it tender meat (16:14)
جَبَلٌ
jabal

وَتَرَى الْجِبَالَ تَحْسَبُهَا جَامِدَةً وَهِيَ تَمُرُّ مَرَّ السَّحَابِ
wa-tarā al-jibāla taḥsabuhā jāmidatan wa-hiya tamurru marra as-saḥāb
And you see the mountains, thinking them rigid, while they will pass as the passing of clouds (27:88)
فَجْرٌ
fajr

وَالْفَجْرِ وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍ
wal-fajri wa-layālin ʿashr
By the dawn and the ten nights (89:1-2)
مَطَرٌ

وَهُوَ الَّذِي يُنَزِّلُ الْغَيْثَ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا قَنَطُوا
wa-huwa alladhī yunazzilu al-ghaytha min baʿdi mā qanaṭū
And it is He who sends down rain after they had despaired (42:28)
نَجْمٌ
najm

وَالنَّجْمِ إِذَا هَوَى
wan-najmi idhā hawā
By the star when it descends (53:1)
خَشِيَ

he feared (God) / he was in awe

إِنَّمَا يَخْشَى اللَّهَ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ الْعُلَمَاءُ
innamā yakhshā Allāha min ʿibādihi al-ʿulamāʾ
Only those fear Allah, among His servants, who have knowledge (35:28)

مَنْ كَانَ يَرْجُو لِقَاءَ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّ أَجَلَ اللَّهِ لَآتٍ
man kāna yarjū liqāʾa Allāhi fa-inna ajala Allāhi laʾāt
Whoever hopes for the meeting with Allah - indeed, the term of Allah is coming (29:5)
غَفَرَ

he forgave / he pardoned

رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا
rabbanā ighfir lanā dhunūbanā
Our Lord, forgive us our sins (3:147)
أَوْحَى

وَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ أَنْ أَلْقِ عَصَاكَ
wa-awḥaynā ilā Mūsā an alqi ʿaṣāk
And We inspired to Moses: Throw your staff (7:117)
اتَّقَى
ittaqā
he was God-conscious / he was mindful of God

وَمَنْ يَتَّقِ اللَّهَ يَجْعَلْ لَهُ مَخْرَجًا
wa-man yattaqi Allāha yajʿal lahū makhrajā
And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out (65:2)

يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اعْبُدُوا رَبَّكُمُ الَّذِي خَلَقَكُمْ وَالَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ
yā ayyuhā an-nāsu uʿbudū rabbakumu alladhī khalaqakum walladhīna min qablikum laʿallakum tattaqūn
O mankind, worship your Lord who created you and those before you, so that you may become righteous (2:21)
