إِيمَانٌ

īmān

faith / belief

A1nounroot: أ-م-ن

وَلَمَّا يَدْخُلِ الْإِيمَانُ فِي قُلُوبِكُمْ

wa-lammā yadkhuli al-īmānu fī qulūbikum

And faith has not yet entered your hearts (49:14)

جَنَّةٌ

jannah

paradise / garden

A1nounroot: ج-ن-ن

وَبَشِّرِ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ أَنَّ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتٍ

wa-bashshiri alladhīna āmanū wa-ʿamilū aṣ-ṣāliḥāti anna lahum jannāt

And give good tidings to those who believe and do righteous deeds that they will have gardens (2:25)

نَارٌ

nār

fire / hellfire

A1nounroot: ن-و-ر

وَاتَّقُوا النَّارَ الَّتِي أُعِدَّتْ لِلْكَافِرِينَ

wattaqū an-nāra allatī uʿiddat lil-kāfirīn

And fear the Fire which has been prepared for the disbelievers (3:131)

صَلَاةٌ

ṣalāh

prayer / salah

A1nounroot: ص-ل-و

إِنَّ الصَّلَاةَ تَنْهَى عَنِ الْفَحْشَاءِ وَالْمُنْكَرِ

inna aṣ-ṣalāta tanhā ʿani al-faḥshāʾi wal-munkar

Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing (29:45)

دِينٌ

dīn

religion / faith / way of life

A1nounroot: د-ي-ن

إِنَّ الدِّينَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ الْإِسْلَامُ

inna ad-dīna ʿinda Allāhi al-islām

Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam (3:19)

خَلَقَ

khalaqa

he created

خَلَقَ الْإِنْسَانَ مِنْ عَلَقٍ

khalaqa al-insāna min ʿalaq

He created man from a clinging substance (96:2)

أَنْزَلَ

anzala

he sent down / he revealed

إِنَّا أَنْزَلْنَاهُ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ

innā anzalnāhu fī laylati al-qadr

Indeed, We sent it down during the Night of Decree (97:1)

هَدَى

hadā

he guided

اهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ

ihdinā aṣ-ṣirāṭa al-mustaqīm

Guide us to the straight path (1:6)

رَزَقَ

razaqa

he provided / he sustained

وَارْزُقْنَا وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ الرَّازِقِينَ

warzuqnā wa-anta khayru ar-rāziqīn

And provide for us, and You are the best of providers (5:114)

ظَلَمَ

ẓalama

he wronged / he oppressed

وَمَا ظَلَمْنَاهُمْ وَلَكِنْ كَانُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ

wa-mā ẓalamnāhum wa-lākin kānū anfusahum yaẓlimūn

And We did not wrong them, but they were wronging themselves (16:118)

كَفَرَ

kafara

he disbelieved / he denied

وَمَنْ يَكْفُرْ بِاللَّهِ وَمَلَائِكَتِهِ وَكُتُبِهِ وَرُسُلِهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَقَدْ ضَلَّ

wa-man yakfur billāhi wa-malāʾikatihī wa-kutubihī wa-rusulihī wal-yawmi al-ākhiri faqad ḍall

Whoever disbelieves in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, and the Last Day has gone far astray (4:136)

كَذَبَ

kadhaba

he lied / he denied the truth

A2verbroot: ك-ذ-ب

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

waylun yawmaʾidhin lil-mukadhdhibīn

Woe, that Day, to the deniers (77:15)
